Mini Mensch is the perfect introduction to camp for our rising 1st and 2nd graders. The Mini Mensch campers will be in their own cabin and have a high staff to camper ratio. They will spend a weekend enjoying one of the most special times at camp - Shabbat! Nothing beats the welcoming, relaxing camaraderie of Shabbat at camp and our Mini Mensch-ers will get an introduction to all of the things that make it special: our Shabbat show, special meals, Saturday morning Coffee Cake, all-camp t'fillot, special Shabbat electives, LOTS of pool time, Havdallah, and Israeli dancing (Rikud), to name just a few.
There are two Mini Mensch sessions this summer:
- Session One: Friday, June 26th to Sunday, June 28th, 2020
- Session Two: Friday, July 24th to Sunday, July 26th, 2020
We will open the gates to welcome you at 11:00 am and usher you through the check-in process, including lice and temperature checks, meeting the Health Center staff if you have medications, and getting unpacked and settled into the bunk. We ask that parents be on their way as soon as possible so that we can get our campers to lunch and right into afternoon activities.
We will open the gates to welcome you at 10:00 am and show you to our Shalom Center. There you will pick up your camper and have a meet and greet with the staff before you say goodbye to camp until next summer!
We have perfected the packing list for our 3-week campers to make sure they have everything they need and still use just their allocated cubby space. For our youngest campers, we have pared the Mini Mensch packing list down to the essentials you need for just a weekend. As with all of our campers, we encourage you to have your Mini Menscher pack with you - we find campers feel more confident when they know what they have and where it's packed.
Now...What to do for the weekend while your camper is away? Why not enjoy the Texas Hill Country? Within 30 minutes of camp, you can find many great Bed & Breakfasts. Frank's favorite two are:
