What should I do before camp?

Note it on the medical form. That's really the whole ask. Once we know, we handle everything else quietly and without fuss.

How does CYJ handle it?

With complete discretion:

• Your camper is placed on a bottom bunk

• Our staff are trained to manage it without embarrassing anyone

• Sheets get washed while campers are out of the cabin, so there's no lingering evidence and no awkward moment for your camper to navigate

We've seen this plenty of times over the years. It's handled quietly, every time.

What should I bring?

Send a second pair of sheets, just in case.

What should I tell my camper?

Talk to them ahead of time — let them know their counselor already knows and is there to help, no big deal. Kids pick up on how we treat something, so if you can make it a non-issue at home, it'll be a non-issue at camp too.
