Old-school letters, still the best kind. Here's the rundown.

How does mail work?

Address it like this:

Camper Name – Cabin Number (you'll get this on Opening Day) Camp Young Judaea Texas 121 Camp Young Judaea Dr Woodcreek, TX 78676

Mail is delivered once a day during menucha (rest hour), right after lunch. Campers also write home during this time, plus dedicated letter-writing time twice a week — it's basically mandatory journaling, but for you.

On Tuesdays and Fridays, campers need a letter or email in hand to get into breakfast. If they don't have one ready, we've got stationary on hand — nobody skips a meal over it, but everybody writes something.

Save these letters. They're gold. Here's why: outside of camp, you will probably never receive a handwritten letter from your kid again in your life. This is likely the only stretch of their childhood where it happens regularly. Full disclosure — we can't guarantee it's addressed to you specifically. It might be the dog. It might be the neighbor. We just know they wrote to someone (or something). But they wrote, in their own handwriting, and that's worth holding onto.

A few tips:

• Mail to/from Wimberley takes 2–3 extra days, so plan ahead

• Send a letter before camp starts so it's waiting for them on arrival — we'll get it to the right bunk even without a cabin number yet

• Pre-address and stamp envelopes with your kids. A great learning opportunity — where the stamp goes, the return address, all of it

• Saturday mail delivers Sunday — Shabbat comes first

What about email?

We print emails Sunday–Friday for delivery. Anything sent after 10:00 AM goes out the next day.

Want a reply? Check the "Request a Reply" box, and your camper gets a blank sheet to write back on. Fair warning: kids don't always take us up on it. No reply doesn't mean no news — it usually just means they were too busy having the time of their life to sit down and write.
