COVID-19 Update - Email February 23rd

Last week I received this email from a parent:

Frank, thanks for the email. I think of you daily not because you are the love of my life, but because my kids talk about some camp activity that they can't wait to do this summer. If you are forced to cancel camp, I highly recommend you enter the witness protection program. Camp must go on!

Those of you that know me would agree that this email made my day.  Our kids need camp now more than ever.  I usually share the benefits of strengthening Jewish identity and creating a love for Israel and many other GREAT things about camp.  Now, I can also add playing with friends and getting a much needed break from screens .  Kids need time to be kids. To make this happen in a COVID-19 world will take good planning, the ability to adapt, and strong communication with our parents. You have my commitment that we will do all three things

Please take a look at the attached document for our first round of COVID protocols we have developed with the CYJ medical committee to ensure a safe and fun summer for your children. Please know that, as is customary these days, we anticipate that there will be adjustments made to what we are sharing today. In the coming months, we will continue to communicate our plans through emails and virtual town hall meetings. You can always get up-to-date information by clicking on our Camp & COVID-19 section on our Virtual Parent Guide and FAQ’s page.

We understand things are still unclear in the world, and we are going to provide you as much clarity as possible. In that vein, I would like to let you know that we have extended our full refund deadline from March 1st to April 1st.

Shalom,

Frank
